Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Posted by Charlotte Miller on

Did you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month? The team at We Feed You are super proud of our partnership – launched in September - with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). Our founders have seen first-hand the tough journey people face undergoing breast cancer treatment, and if we can make that journey a little bit easier, then it makes what we do all the more worthwhile.

As an official partner of BCNA, We Feed You meals are available to BCNA members at a reduced rate, to support them and their families when they need it most. In the words of BCNA’s CEO Kirsten Pillati “Eating well is a key component for breast cancer survivors. We are very happy to partner with a company that delivers healthy, ready-made meals to our members”.

Many of us have been touched by breast cancer – in fact, 53 Australians are diagnosed each day. The number of people being diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia is increasing, but the good news is that the number of deaths from breast cancer is decreasing due to better screening, detection and treatment.

The risk of developing breast cancer increases with age, but women of all ages should be 'breast aware'. This means not only regular breast checks, but becoming familiar with the normal look and feel of your breasts and reporting any unusual breast changes to your doctor as soon as possible.

Early detection can boost your chances of surviving breast cancer. So if you haven’t lately, this is your friendly reminder from the WFY team to check your breasts.
