If you’ve been following the news lately, you’ll know that global events are starting to hit closer to home — especially when it comes to fuel costs.

At We Feed You, rising fuel prices are impacting every part of our business, not just delivery to your door.

Like many small businesses, we’ve always absorbed as much of these increases as possible. For example, the average cost of a delivery has been approximately $25, while we’ve continued to charge our customers only $15 per delivery. We’ve always tried to keep things as affordable as we can.

However, increasing costs are now affecting all areas of our business — not just deliveries. The many goods entering our kitchen each day are also becoming more expensive. From fresh produce and proteins to packaging and pantry staples, many of our suppliers are experiencing rising transport and freight costs, which are now flowing through to small businesses like ours.

With costs continuing to rise across every part of the business, we’ve had to make a small adjustment.

We’ll be introducing a temporary fuel levy of $3.75 per delivery to help cover a portion of these increased costs.

This only contributes to some of the additional expenses we’re facing, but it allows us to continue providing the quality meals, ingredients and care that are so important to us.

This decision was not made lightly. We understand that every increase matters, and we’re incredibly mindful of the impact on our customers. At the same time, it’s important for us to remain sustainable so we can continue doing what we love - preparing healthy meals for our community.

We genuinely hope this is temporary. As soon as fuel prices stabilise, we’ll reassess the levy and remove it when possible.
